How do I set up AdScientist?
- Start AdScientist.
- Go to "File" then "Configuration" on the menu bar to set your SMTP mail server and related settings.
- Then go to "File", "Engine Setting", to choose the search engines you want to be able to create accounts for in AdScientist. For each search engine you want to have an AdScientist account for, ensure the box next to its name is checked. Click OK to return to main page.
- Select the first search engine represented by a folder on the left hand side panel and then click on the Quick Start "Click here to create a new account" button to create a new account.
- Enter the account name, User Name, Password and Account ID, plus AutoBid Settings of maximum and minimum bids for the account. If you want to update your bids automatically, please also set up the "Scheduler" setting. When finished, click on OK to return to main page.
- Select the account you just created, then click the "Load KW" button from the toolbar. This will download the keywords from your account.
- After downloading the keywords from your account, click on "Keyword Property" to set the properties for each keyword in your account. You may set up multiple keywords at the same time by holding down the "Shift" key while selecting.
- Check your position by clicking the "Keyword Look Up" button from the "Manual Bid" drop-down menu.
- Adjust each keyword's properties after the "Keyword Look Up" process is complete.
- Click on "Update Bids" to update the bids.

Will my firewall or anti-virus software affect the running of AdScientist?
Yes, your firewall or anti-virus software may affect the running of AdScientist if the program is
not set up properly.
Because AdScientist needs to connect to the internet in the background during the Scheduler Autobidding process, some types of firewall or anti-virus software may consider this activity as spyware or a virus and block AdScientist from accessing the internet.
If this happens, please re-configure your firewall or anti-virus software to give permission for AdScientist to access the internet, and then try to run AdScientist again. To set up this permission, add AdScientist to the Trusted Sites list of your firewall and/or anti-virus software.
Consult with our support staff if your problems persist.
